Instructor Ratings: Home Firearm Safety-Personal Protection-Pistol

COURSES OFFERED For questions regarding Ohio's Concealed Carry Law go to the Ohio Attorney General's Office The Basic Pistol Shooting Course and the Personal Protection In The Home Course meet the requirements described in section 2923.125(G)(1) of Ohio Revised Code. Applicants must pass the competency examination described in section 2923.125(G)(2) of the Ohio Revised Code.
Basic Pistol Shooting Course Goal: To provide shooters with an introduction to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. The class is conducted in approximately twelve hours. The minimum time on the pistol range is two hours. Note: Additional time may be required for both class and range curriculum.		Personal Protection in the Home Course Goal: *To develope in the students the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of an handgun* for protection of self and family and** to provide information on the law-abiding citizen's right to self defense. The course is conducted for a minimum of twelve hours in the classroom and a minimum of two hours live firing on the range. Note: Additional time may be required for both class and range curriculum.
